This house was built in 17th century. It was reconstructed several times in the following century and from then on has remained the same up to present day. It belonged to a rich merchant Atanas Konstantsaliev, thus being the reason for its name- the House of Konstantaliev.

The basement was constructed of stone, with thick and heavy walls. There were the premises  of the caretaker (a kitchen and bedroom), the servants' room, a cellar, a storeroom for merchandise, a stable and front and back staircases, and a hiding-place with a separate staircase leading to the first floor. There was a massive studded wooden door at the main entrance, and metal grills protected the cellar.

The first floor is frame-built. The rooms are divided into reception rooms, bedrooms and rooms for cooking. The first group is comprised of a drawing-room, a living-room and a dining-room, doors leading from one into the other, all of them facing the main staircase. The dining-room opens then to the kitchen and to the hallway which links them to the bedrooms and the living-room. The most intimate room on the floor is the maternity room. The dining-room is in the centre of the floor, laid out between the reception rooms and the kitchen. The cooking part of the house is comprised of the kitchen, the larder, the pantry, the bakery, the sink and the toilet - all of them facing the back staircase, connected directly to the dining-room and indirectly to the bedrooms. In spite of their size and space, the rooms make people feel comfortable creating an intimate and cozy atmosphere. The rich ornamentation of the house speaks for itself and is indicative of the means and taste of the owner. It also gives proof for the gifts and skills of those who built the house. The lay-out of the building points to the profession of the owner - a well-to-do tradesman, owning caravans, traveling on business abroad.
